Meet the hero, or I mean, the villain (cough, Annabelle!). They form an amazing friendship where they support each other and form an alliance in order to find rich husbands. Annabelle and her friends were some of the best scenes in the book.Their friendship was all, it made the book even more enjoyable. I loved the relationship between the Wallflowers, Lillian is feisty and very much American, Evie is adorable and very much shy and Daisy is just a pixie who has magic and charm. With Annabelle comes her Wallflower friends. She wants freedom and goes to back to when life was better. She doesn’t want to be anyone’s mistress, even if that would be her last option. She hates her situation, will do anything to change it but there are things she’s not willing to do. Throughout the book, we see Annabelle, funny, caring, independent, and loving. What can I say, the chemistry between these two was addictive, entertaining, and fascinating. The moment lengthened uncomfortably, until Simon Hunt finally spoke. Annabelle needs a husband ASAP and she doesn’t have any qualms about who she marries, as long as he’s part of the peer and not Simon Hunt (introduce a sigh full of feelings from this blogger). We meet Annabelle, who is on the verge of desperation, three seasons in and she’s still single, painfully single, without a penny to her name and a house where everything is just appearances. I have a severe weakness for this type of romance, set in other places and other times where the peer was everything in England and yet people were starting to be influenced by the world-changing around them. Meet the heroine, who is gorgeous, strong and. But fate may have other plans-and it will take all of Annabelle's courage to face a peril that could destroy everything she holds dear. As they try to outmaneuver each other, they find themselves surrendering to a love more powerful than they could have ever imagined. Unfortunately her most persistent admirer is the brash Simon Hunt, a handsome and ambitious entrepreneur who wants her as his mistress.Īnnabelle is determined to resist Simon's wicked propositions, but she can't deny her attraction to the boldly seductive rogue, any more than he can resist the challenge she presents. Her family is on the brink of disaster, and the only way Annabelle can save them is to marry a wealthy man. Proud and beautiful Annabelle Peyton could have her pick of suitors-if only she had a dowry. ISN’T THIS COVER JUST GORGEOUS!!!? Four young ladies at the side of the ballroom make a pact to help each other find husbands.
